To Start...

Students will begin to discover ramps and make connections to real world examples. Students will learn through hands on experiments and investigation. At the beginning of the unit, the majority of the lessons will include unstructured investigation and conversation about observations.

In the Middle...

Learners will break down movement through isolating certain variables, hypothesizing the outcome, conducting a test and drawing conclusions. Students will look at: objects on ramps (classifying rollers and sliders, ramp height, material and weight).

By the End...

Students will use their prior knowledge of the variables that were dissected throughout the unit to complete a STEM challenge that incorporates all of the components of the unit. Students will revisit ramps in our world.
